rapidBizApps specializes in building reliable, scalable, and user-friendly apps that push the productivity frontier at mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, and construction companies. Our purpose is to drive revenue and profitability increase for our clients by using technology to significantly improve their operational efficiency.

We’re now looking for a technically oriented Product Manager to own and orchestrate our NPI – New Product Innovation roadmap and support the ambitious product development goals to set us up for long-term success.

Our primary software stack involves the MEAN stack, Objective-C and Swift (for iOS), Java (for Android), and C# (for Windows). We also do quite a bit of DevOps on AWS and Azure. We expect the Product Manager in this capacity to have a strong understanding or professional experience working on these technologies.

PROFILE SUMMARY

As a technical product manager, you will be responsible for defining market requirements, managing the NPI cycle, prioritizing and packaging the features into product releases. You will interact with development leads, product architects, engineering managers and key customers in implementing and rolling out the feature sets. A strong technical background is required. Job duties include gathering requirements from existing and potential customers, writing product and functional requirement documents, building agile product backlogs, and managing the releases of our products and customizations with our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Responsibilities

  • Manage the proprietary mining data product portfolio and drive product roadmap for our data engine on various deployment frameworks that include on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Work through the end to end product cycle as a technical advocate for end-users and customers.
  • Own all aspects of product definition including security integration, platform integration and monitoring for on-premises platforms. In addition, drive data source integration, purchase/sales process integration for on-premise and cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Drive New Product Development, with heavy participation in the programs and ownership of the initiation and definition of new systems. Work with the development team to develop feature backlogs and product documentation such as user stories, use cases, logic flows and functional specifications.
  • Support Sale of the rapidBizApps’ line of products through technical support, proposal, and presentations to customers.
  • Heavily involved with business and marketing teams in customer research activities including usability testing, live on-site experiments, and UAT.
  • Proactively identify any production problems that arise, outline root cause analysis, recommend solutions, and escalate as needed.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Create and Maintain Strategic Product Plan for the rapidBizApps product portfolio, producing a master product roadmap to be incorporated into the company’s strategic plan.
  • Champion the needs of key stakeholders and underpinning strategic investment initiatives to build out the product capability incorporating the right set of KPI to be diligently tracked and reported on after each delivery.
  • Undertake customer and market analysis incorporating data analytics capabilities to test the business hypothesis and determine customer/product/market share opportunities and niches.
  • Guide Product Marketing Activity for our current product line including product positioning, product roadmaps, launches, presentations, competitive comparisons, and sales training.
  • Understand and Communicate Market Dynamics for current and NPI products through market research and relationships with customers, partners, and sales & service personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information System or related field is required. MBA from a premier management institute is desired.
  • 5-10 years of work experience in Technical Product Management, product development, or product marketing is required.
  • Can think like a developer and understand the technical approaches/limitations in product design.
  • Strike the right balance between developing a high-level understanding of the business and market requirements, and developing detailed specs needed for execution.
  • Must have a strong understanding or hands-on experience developing mobile, web and cloud technologies
  • Ability to work with customer’s IT department in breaking a complex and vaguely defined business problem into a clear and actionable set of use cases, functionalities and configuration options to be delivered.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and ability to assimilate omnichannel feedback into product specifications.
  • Ability to construct product-benefit maps and explain the technical aspects of products to both IT and non-IT audience in the product training.
  • Must have excellent communication and public speaking skills to represent the company in the industry standard seminars, workshops, trade shows, and customer forums, as a primary point of contact.
